Two teenagers have been charged with numerous offences following a series of burglaries in Sheffield and Rotherham last week.
Brandon Worthington, 19, and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, were detained after officers located two stolen vehicles at a scrap yard in Fullerton Road, Rotherham.
A 38-year-old man was also arrested.
Subsequent enquiries linked the incident to a number of further burglaries and attempted burglaries which had been reported in Rotherham and Sheffield between 9 May and the early hours of 12 May.
Worthington was charged on Thursday 13 May with four counts of attempted burglary, three counts of burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.
The 17-year-old boy has been charged with the same offences, plus one count of handling stolen goods.
The two appeared in court on Friday (14 May). Worthington was remanded in to custody pending trial, and the boy admitted all the charges against him. He’s been bailed ahead of sentencing.
The 38-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods on Wednesday, has now been released under investigation.
