The UEFA Women’s EURO tournament begins in less than two weeks, so we’re being asked to check out which roads will be closed on match days.
The games will be played on the evenings of Sunday the 10th, Thursday the 14th, Monday the 18th and Saturday the 23rd.
But there’ll be parties in town on the afternoons of those days, affecting several roads.
Here are the details:
The fan festival and game dates and times are as follows:
- Match 1, France v Italy, Sunday 10th July 12pm - 6pm K/O 8pm
- Match 2, France v Belgium, Thursday 14th July 2pm - 6pm K/O 8pm
- Match 3, Iceland v France, Monday 18th July 2pm- 6pm K/O 8pm
- Match 4 Quarter Final, Saturday 23rd July 12pm - 6pm K/O 8pm
As part of the plans there will be road closures in place on the above dates from:
- 10am to 7pm on Sunday 10th July and Saturday 23rd July
- 12pm to 7pm on Thursday 14th July and Monday 18th July.
The affected roads are:
- High Street
- Church Street
- Upper Millgate
- All saints Square
- College Street
- Howard Street
- Effingham Street
- Bridgegate/New Zealand
- Market Street (between Corporation Street & Church Street)
There will also be road closures for match traffic on Sunday 10 July and Thursday 14 July between 5.30pm – 6.30pm, and on Monday 18 July Saturday 23 July 5.15pm – 6.30pm on the following roads:
- Market Place and Westgate to Unity Place
- Corporation Street
- Moorgate Street
- Ship Hill
- The Crofts
- Domine Lane
- Don Street
- Market Street
